RECIPE: Red Radish Salsa
In her latest guest post, nutritionist Barbara Cox shares her recipe for a zingy radish salsa that could help to regulate your root chakra.
Colour Yourself Healthy – Root Chakra
Red coloured fruits and vegetables help the root chakra in many wonderful ways. The root chakra is red and, interestingly, it is possible that eating red coloured foods could help to regulate the root chakra. Most red fruits and vegetables are a good source of vitamin C. The root chakra is connected to bone, skin, and the adrenals, which all need vitamin C to thrive.
Red apples, strawberries, pomegranates, cherries, tomatoes, red cabbage, radishes, and many more are all beneficial. Root vegetables are a vital resource because they are grown in Earth’s soil and contain the grounding and stabilising energy of Earth as well. Red potatoes, beetroot, carrots (look for red carrots) and red onion can have a positive effect on the root chakra.
Here’s a lovely recipe to try:
Ingredients
- 8 red radishes – chopped
- 2 tomatoes – chopped
- 1 red chilli (seeds removed) – chopped finely
- A few sprigs of coriander – chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Season with cracked pepper and Himalayan crystal salt
Method and serving suggestion
- Combine all ingredients with a touch of olive oil and season to taste
- Serve with burgers (meat or veggie), tortilla chips, or with fish and seafood
